Our Senitnel Dome 360 mirrors are used by the Sandia National Laboratories to search the skies for meteorites. The astronomers place our mirror on an outdoor platform and aim a camera(s) at it.
Many times the area where the meteorite hits the Earth is known but, the direction that it came from is not. The mirror and camera set-up (All-Sky) helps the astronomers to determine the trajectory of the meteorites therefore knowing where they entered the Earth's atmosphere.
Presently, Sandia National Labs are using about 20 of our mirrors for this purpose.
